2012 Mustang Boss 302 Factory Ford Prototype Laguna Seca $68,995

Wow factor - an extremely rare opportunity to own a piece of Ford History! Not only is this a Ford Mustang Boss 302, then a Laguna Seca race package, in the ulta-rare Ingot Silver color combo but now it is not even a production car but a Ford Prototype used for internal testing! Yes and its given internal number would delight James Bond Fans as MP0007 - yes an extra zero exists but you get the connection. The MP is short for Manufacturing Prototype and this number is shown with pride on top of the Boss 302 intake manifold where the Laguna Seca number would be on production vehicles. As legend goes the prototypes are always storied to be crushed and never see the light of day. Our car here was determined to be assigned to the "training" team in Ford Motor Company. That department within Ford was "service time study group". See below for more pictures and videos of the rare and very collectable Mustang Boss 302 Prototype!

2012 Mustang Boss 302 Update

Small update - we had the miles listed at 36K when they are 34K

Also - updated the shift knob with a NOS Ford Knob as it left the factory with. One picture below shows this update - all with white knob are obsolete. Thank you!

    Driving Experience

This Boss 302 Mustang demands attention when driving, the race red accents scream HERE I COME! And if that is not warning enough you hear the rumble exiting in 4 locations with authority from this Boss. Wonderful sound, shifts crisp no unexpected noises or issues. This car is a perfect driving machine, brakes are ready to haul you down from any speed, as the Recaro racing seats hold you in place. Ready for the next caretaker of this very rare Boss 302 Mustang Prototype!

    Ford Boss 302 Prototype History

There are many phases of pre-production vehicles within Ford. For our 2012 Boss 302 example we have numbers of 12 TT (test tooling), 12 PP (pilot production), and 44 MP (manufacturing prototype) cars built. Each phases nears mass production. Also each phase includes colors and options that vary. To our understanding 3 LS in silver were under the 44 produced, and 0007 is one of those cars.

    MP 0007 Ford Use History

While at Ford MP 0007 was used for service time information. 0007 was used to calculate Ford service times for Laguna specif elements and the corresponding times to service these elements. Internal Ford videos were shot on 0007 and documented. After that Ford racing had 0007 for a period of use - a google search will show a silver laguna showing the trac key sound - this is beleved to be 0007 in action. When the red key is active the "loopy idle" seems a bit more aggressive than the street Boss

1st MSO to Ford Motor Company (as Mustang GT Coupe)

    Window Sticker (s)

    Boss 302 Certificate

This rare prototype has a binder of information from email correspondence back and forth from Ford employees many Ford specific documents such as the revision of the window sticker from 2010 to the final revision into a Laguna Seca in 2012. A copy of the 1st MSO sold to Ford Motor Company, the shipping check lists as they developed in Ford - in this case some items evolved such as a jack in 2010 to an inflator in 2012. Very rare to locate especially to a rare car as a Boss 302.
